Psychotherapy Appointment & Payment Policies

My payment guidelines are easy to understand. I have chosen to not be an in-network provider for any insurance company. I have also chosen to opt-out as a Medicare provider, so it is not an option to submit claims to Medicare or your supplemental plan on your own behalf. That is my agreement with Medicare. Please know there are other Medicare providers who provide psychotherapy services if you need to use those benefits.

Payment in full is required at the time of each appointment. For your convenience you can pay by check, cash, Visa, or health savings account (HSA) at the time of service. Upon request, I will provide a receipt for your payment for your records.

If you want to submit this receipt to obtain out-of-network benefits under your health insurance policy, I can include the needed information on the receipt. If you intend to use those benefits, I recommend you contact your insurance company before our first session so that you understand how the process works for your particular insurance policy and if you will be able to access any out-of-network benefits. Please be advised that I will not complete prior authorizations or other paperwork that might be required by your insurance company to access benefits. Since this is a fee-for-service practice, you will be responsible for managing all communication with your insurance company around accessing any potential out-of-network benefits. Use of your out-of-network benefits is between you and your insurance company. They will reimburse you directly for any benefits you are due. Please feel free to ask any questions about this when you call to schedule your first appointment or if your needs change once you have started therapy.
